Pink shirt day

For the last week or so, My class has focused on the main reconization of bullying and how to stop these actions as a reminder of the already passed Pink shirt day.

We had to create a shirt that premotes anti-bulling and brings awarness to the specific subject by using a simple quote. We Also had to show a picture of our work as proof that we did it, but my camera froze multiple times during school while i was trying to take a picture and I doubt that it'll work now.

Laboratory Equipment

Hello

Today during Science we were instructed to list the items we would use in the future and take photos of them as examples. My class would be using Test Tubes, Beakers, Conical Flasks and Bunsen Burners.

Test tubes are usually more thin and slightly smaller than boiling tubes and but they cant be used for boiling apparently they will be used quite a bit during class.

A beaker come in three main sizes, they are usually made out of glass or plastic, the ones we will use are made of glass, down the size of all beakers is a measurement of some sort.

Conical flasks have a small neck and they are usually used for boiling liquids, they also have measurement down the side the the tube and they are always made of glass.

Bunsen burners are used for heating up liquids using gas and are going to be used on heatproof mats or gauze mats with tripods.

Masks - Drama Class

Today during drama class, We were looking at masks. We had to write a blogpost with five or more reasons about why people wear masks during theater and during plays, and we also had to show a few pictures of masks as examples .

People wear masks during theater so display the characters emotions or to display the animal of what they're playing, masks can be used to add detail to a specific scene if it needs more depth or emotion, masks can also be used to disguise an actors appearance if the character needs a certain feature ( this is unnecessary most of the time ), and last of all masks can be used to add a certain atmosphere to a scene ( eg. Whimsical, anonymous, Tragic, ect. ).

Heroes - Hurumanu 1

In Nga Tangata, Hurumanu 1 we studied the lives of Local, national and international heroes. A hero is a male, female or a group of people who make decisions that don’t benefit themselves, but benefit the public or their country. I made some google slides about 6 sporting heroes, They were Sophie Pascoe, Matthew Trott, Valerie Adams, Richie McCaw and Caroline and Georgina  Evers-Swindell ( a team of rowers, it would have been unfair to only write about one ). ]

I made some google slides about a local hero who studied the prevention and treatment of diabetes. His name was Don Beaven and he lived in Christchurch until his death. My class and I also studied a music band called Crowded House. They were said to be ‘heroes for one day’  when they performed in Christchurch recently.

We discussed the meaning of hero worship. It means ‘ looking up to someone and trying to be like them in multiple ways. ’

My class also studied some earthquake heroes from the Christchurch Earthquake of 2011, their names were Craig R Adair because he evacuated a highly built building, Chris Cole because he provided service to local residents and contacted the authorities, Jennifer M Butler because she gave medical attention to over 100 injured individuals, Christopher A Nutsford who saved 3 to 7 people from a fallen building, putting his own life at risk and James askew because he provided assistance for the rescue efforts of the fallen CTV building.

I was supposed to write about what it would be like to be a comical hero, but there isn't enough time to write it here, but my alias was lo siento ( it means im sorry in spanish ).
