Persuasive Writing

Hello.
A few days ago in hurumanu, My class had to write some persuasive writing. Afterwards we had to include it in a blogpost.
Here is my work:
Summer isnt the best season.

Summer without a doubt has both good and bad traits and so do all other seasons.
Firstly, during summer you might be planning on going to the beach and eat icecream, but you also have to connsider the insects that constaintly invade your house and how sleepless you get on warm nights.

Secondly, other seasons are in the same situation; for example when you think of winter you would think of drinking hot cocoa by the light of the fire, but you would also think of how cold it would be during P.E class. Spring would remind you of feilds of blooming flowers and hay fever. Autum would remind you of the organge trees and the wild varierity of fruit, but the sudden transition from summer to colder weather could be alarming to some people.

Thirdly, some people belive the certain food taste better in certain seasons (example: icecream in summer. soup in winter, ect), But i belive that as long as you like the food you should eat it because the temprature cant change the flavor or texture of your oreos.

In conclusion All seasons have both good and bad traits.

Freeze Frames - Drama

Hello!

Yersterday in Drama, My class and I worked on freeze frames, these help us create images in our head of how we can display enviroment by using levels and physicality.
One of my drama teachers took pictures of the freeze frames, but didnt take one of me or my group, so therefore I can't show any pictures (sorry for the incoveniance).

Goodbye.

The Olympics - Hurumanu

Hello

For a while, my hurumanu class has been working on a task about the Olympics. We had to read a text about how the olympics has evolved , then write down the assigned questions and what you think answers are.

I wrote the questions and answers in my book accidentally, and had to re-write them on a document, but fortunatally it only took 10 minutes to re-write.

The Olympics

1.  What happened in the 2nd century BC?

Ancient greece was invaded by the roman empire

2.  Question:                                                               The answer would be found in:

Where were the first Olympic games?                    -  Information about the Olympic games and where they were held.

What sporting events could people take part in? -  Information about sporting events that people could take part in

When did the Olympic games end?                        -  Information about how the roman empire affected the olympics

How did the modern Olympics begin                     -  Information about the revival of the olympics.

3.  What are halters?

Large weights

4.  What reason did Baron Pierre De Coubertin give for wanting to hold the modern olympics every four years?

To try and keep it as similar to the first olympics as possible.

5.  Look at the section titled “When were the first olympic games?” and find one word that means the same as appreciate

Honour

6.  Describe King Nero's personality.

From what the text said, he seems like a selfish, hypocritical narcissistic idiot who thought that the world revolved around him. He seemed like the type of person who would have had a massive ego and riot if he didn't win something.

7.  The first olympics were believed to start in 776 BC, Explain why you think the writer chose the put “were believed to”.

Because there has been some scientific proof, but there isn't any way to confirm their studies.

8.  Explain why the layout of the text helps you understand the information.

It's easier to find the categories of what you want to find. And the text doesn’t have much useless information that can’t be used.

Hurumanu

Hello

For Hurumanu 2 this week, My class finished coding separate projects that were shared with the rest of the class, It was optional to share them (you had to ask the teacher beforehand), but there were prizes for the winning project.

The event was organised so each person had a respectable amount of time for their project to be on the screen, The voting part was designed as if it were a democracy (you write the name of who did the best on a piece of paper, fold the paper in half so no one can see what you wrote and put it in a closed box)

In the end, one of my friends one the contest, and a large portion of the class didn't share their project (including me).

Goodbye

Sadako - Hurumanu

 Hello

For hurumanu, a few of my classmates are reading 'Sadako And The Thousand Paper Cranes', This book is about a girl named Sadako who survived the Hiroshima bomb, but later developed leukaemia and died, She was told that if you create a thousand paper cranes then she would be granted a wish. She desperately wanted to survive leukaemia while she was alive, so she started to create paper cranes.

My teacher decided to get the class to create paper cranes, so far we've made one or two hundred out of origami paper, my teacher didn't count the ones made out of craft paper due to the fact of those being test cranes and only being one colour.

Goodbye

Coding - Hurumanu

 Hello

Recently my teacher swapped hurumanu's with another teacher, so now my class has less math, and now has coding. My class was separated into four groups of people with the same coding levels as us. I was placed in the forth group. 33% of all coding lessons have had something to do with mathmatics, unfortunately it's bound to stay that way.

The coding lessons that we've had so far have been fun, and I've figured out how the basics work, What codes do what things, which ones don't work and my class is going to have more of this subject soon.

Goodbye.
